Wireless Networks at Home
Home networks are becoming more common. With the advent of cable modems and DSL,
more and more families are sharing Internet connections between computers. While it might
be legal for two computers to share a connection, some providers will charge extra if they
find you are using more than one IP address. The easiest way to solve this problem is
to use a cable/DSL router. However, the thought of running network cable through the house (or office) and hiding
it under carpets or feeding it through heating ducts into crawl spaces is not pleasant. Well, now you
don’t have to – you can establish a wireless network right in your home. It requires a wireless router or a regular router and a wireless receiver and special transmitting network cards in your
computers. It is even more exciting if you have a notebook computer. With the correct wireless network card, you can
turn on the computer from almost anywhere in the house and access the internet to
check the website advertised on TV or check your e-mail or chat on line. The best thing about wireless netwoking is that it’s clean, efficient and allows you
move your computers to different places in your home without tripping over the
famous blue wire! For more information just call and we can arrange for an assessment of your situation
and a cost estimate.
